For the second year in a row the fly-in was blessed with fine warm weather and excellent flying conditions. There was a good turnout for the breed and many other types knowing that it is an enjoyable place to visit and a chance to meet and chat. Not very many were amateur built Jodels but Alan Shipp brought his award winning Jodel D140E. An amateur built D150 Mascaret fitted with a Wilsch diesel engine was also present.
When the second hand French aero club Jodels were imported into the UK all those years ago it was felt by many that their longevity was in their twilight and that within a few years they would be gone. How wrong they were; here we are 30 years since that prediction and the condition of the fleet is improving by the year and with the 1050's now Annex II and on the LAA Permit to Fly scheme they are being sort after. The newer Jodels are still in limbo with many owners wanting to see aircraft such as the DR220 also migrated over to the LAA Scheme.
Another French type that was a welcome addition to the Fly-In was the Leopoldoff Colibri of which there were 2 both identically painted and with similar registrations.
A full listing of visitors will be added shortly and the report shows most of the visitors and a few of the local aircraft.
